Pupils in appeal over lost Parrot


PUPILS from a Tarleton Primary School had an unexpected visitor to their playground – an African grey parrot.

The children from Tarleton Community Primary are now hoping the owner of the lost bird will come forward so they can be reunited in time for Christmas.

Fugitive cockatoo costs a good man his life


A WOMAN watched her husband of 36 years fall to his death trying to rescue a neighbour’s cockatoo from a tree in an act of kindness that turned to tragedy.

Maurice Macklan, 58, plunged 12m after the cockatoo’s elderly owner fell from the same gum tree two hours earlier and suffered spinal injuries.
